Setting up Shoeboxed.com integration
What is Shoeboxed.com and why does SkyLedger integrate with it?
Shoeboxed allows you to focus on Business, Not Paperwork! Send in receipts and business cards using pre-paid envelopes, email, or your mobile phone, and Shoeboxed will scan, data enter, and organize them for you. Since one of the core missions of SkyLedger is to support the paperless office, integration with Shoebox was a "no brainer" for us. Send your receipts to Shoeboxed and a few days later have them automatically uploaded into your SkyLedger account. How cool is that?
How do I integrate my Shoeboxed account into SkyLedger
Setting up Shoeboxed within SkyLedger is a snap. As the account owner, navigate to the "Company Settings" area of the site and then click on "Add-Ons". Once on the Add-Ons screen, click the "Add" button and you will be redirected to the authentication page at Shoeboxed.com. After typing in your Shoeboxed username and password you will be redirected back to your SkyLedger account. At no time will SkyLedger ever store, or even know, your Shoeboxed username and password.
After being redirected back to SkyLedger your account is setup. You may manually sync your Shoeboxed account at this time by clicking "Sync Now" or every night around midnight SkyLedger will sync your Shoeboxed receipts automatically for you. If you do click "Sync Now" be prepared to wait a few minutes, that syncing does take some time.
What is the "Import transactions to the Mass File Uploader instead of directly to the ledger" all about?
Sometimes having SkyLedger automatically import your receipts from Shoeboxed and importing them directly into your expense ledger is nice. Other times this automatic process is too wild for some business owners. If you are one of those business owners that wants to review every receipt and add your own custom organization, using the Mass File Uploader is a perfect option for you.
When you select this option from the "Add-Ons" screen, receipts from Shoeboxed will be imported into the Mass File Uploader instead of the expense ledger directly. You can then review each receipt on your own schedule and file them away with your own custom organization. The fields to the left of the receipt in the Mass File Uploader will be pre-populated with the data from Shoeboxed. Update, modify these fields, and click save.
If you click delete, the receipt will be deleted from the Mass File Uploader and will not be re-imported from Shoeboxed, but the receipt will remain on the Shoeboxed.com site.
